Located in the heart of the historic district of Agen, the Museum of Fine Arts is one of the most important museums of the Southwest because of its richness and diversity.
It is renowned for its masterpieces of Goya (including self-portrait), its Venus du Mas (Roman period), its Tintoret (Venetian Renaissance), discovered during the inventory of collections in 1997 and its Impressionist canvases (Sisley, Corot, etc.). The museum is located on five levels in four private hotels of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries that reveal their architectural richness during the tour: staircase with renaissance screw, inner courtyards, fireplaces, period furniture… More than 3,000 objects are permanently displayed in 26 rooms, such as a rich cabinet of curiosity.The museum participates in exchanges of works with other museums and organizes major exhibitions every year.
